CEO Edward Adams to Outline Strategies for Identifying

WILMINGTON, Mass.—September 17, 2005—Security Innovation, the

will be co-leading a presentation with Compuware’s Marketing
Director Mike Burba at SecureWorld Detroit on “How to Build
Reliable, Secure Web Applications.” As seasoned software executives
and experts in the IT security and quality assurance space, Adams
and Burba will discuss how to integrate reliability and security
into every aspect of the application development lifecycle─from
requirements to design, development, testing, deployment and
monitoring.
The fundamental flaw often seen in the software development process
is that while reliability and security are the most critical
components of application quality, they are generally treated as
add-ons. Reliability and security must be integrated into every
aspect of the software development lifecycle. For this to happen,
developers must understand application quality best practices and
have the tools and knowledge to maximize reliability and security
effectiveness. Adams and Burba will also outline effective
techniques to sniff out vulnerabilities in applications.
Additionally, despite all the proper training, processes and
do-it-yourself tools at one’s disposal, companies will still need to
defer to the services of outside experts for mission critical
applications. Adams and Burba will offer expert guidance and best
practices in assessing those applications.

direction shifts. Adams was also Vice President of Marketing and
Certification for VeriTest, a division of Lionbridge Technologies,
and held a senior management role at Rational Software (now IBM)
where he derived many of the software quality and business concepts
that add significant value and credibility to the initiatives and
presence he brings to Security Innovation. Adams also held senior
management positions with Logistic Solutions, MathSoft,
Foster-Miller and two U.S. Army Research Labs.
Mr. Adams has presented to thousands at seminars, software industry
conferences, universities, and private companies. He earned his MBA
with honors from Boston College and has bachelor's degrees in
Mechanical Engineering and English Literature from the University of
Massachusetts.
