SECURITY INNOVATION APPOINTS SEAN GURRY
VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Company Growth and Fast-Growth Market for Application
Security Drive
Expansion of Management and Sales Teams
Wilmington, MA—March 13, 2006 - Security Innovation, the
authority on application security and leading independent provider
of assessment and training services, today announced the appointment
of Sean Gurry as Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Gurry
will manage the company’s entire North American sales team.
Additionally, the company named Jim Keeter as Business Development
Manager for the West Coast and Gary Silverman as Business
Development Manager for the Midwest.
“Organizations are waking up to the pressing need for application
security,” said Ed Adams, CEO of Security Innovation. “The
overwhelming growth of the application security market has created a
need to educate and train companies on application quality best
practices, as well as the best approach to building reliable, secure
applications.”
“With decades of experience in network management, Sean, Gary and
Jim are intimately familiar with the old way of thinking: a secure
network equals a secure environment,” added Adams. “That approach
simply won’t get the job done in a world where 70 percent of the
vulnerabilities reside in the applications running across those
networks. These executives work extremely well together and provide
an outstanding balance of industry knowledge, business and sales
expertise. They are helping Security Innovation break new ground in
the market, extend our offerings more broadly and fuel our steady
upward momentum.”
“Understanding clients’ needs and meeting their business objectives
through appropriate services distinguishes Security Innovation from
the competition,” said Gurry. “Long-term client relationships are
created when sales excellence meets operational excellence and
establishes trust and credibility. My team’s challenge is to also
help organizations tap into this expertise.”
Mr. Gurry has 16 years of experience solving business problems with
engineering and training solutions at such companies as Computer
Associates and BCBS. For more than a decade, Mr. Keeter has sold
software and consulting services for security platforms, secure
messaging and secure applications to Fortune 500 accounts at such
companies as Zix Corporation, Verity and BindView. Mr. Silverman has
more than 16 years of solutions-oriented sales experience with
network management, database, security, anti-virus and collaboration
products from such industry leaders as Oracle, HP, Symantec and
Network Associates.
