Application Security Trainer

Reports to:  Director of Security Services
Location:  Boston, MA
Position Overview:  This versatile individual will use their technology, presentation, and subject-matter skills in Application Security to develop effective training materials and deliver security courses to leading organizations. You will also be responsible for participating in customer security process assessments as well as security engineering activities such as security design reviews, security code reviews, and security testing and security deployment reviews. This position includes significant customer interaction and travel.

Primary Responsibility:  Administration and Delivery of Security Training.

  • Develop and deliver custom training courses focused on the key security engineering lifecycle activities
  • Assess, remain abreast of, and deploy “best in class” training practices and make timely adjustments to ensure our courses are as effective as possible
  • Coordinate training programs to include facilities/media for set-up: hardware, software, materials, schedules, conference calls, web conferences, etc.
  • Assist Director of Security Services in determining training needs and identify activities/programs to meet those needs

Secondary Responsibility:  Participation in Application Security Assessments

  • Assess customer development processes and make security improvement recommendations
  • Participate in key lifecycle activities such as Threat Modeling, Design Review, Code Review and Deployment Review
  • Demonstrate in depth understanding of customer technologies and examination of security risks
  • Conduct and document research on relevant security topics

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of direct experience in application security a plus
  • Strong knowledge of application security design, development and testing techniques
  • Knowledge of a variety of programming languages (C/C++, Java/J2EE, .NET) and development methodologies (RUP, Agile, etc.)
  • Experience on both Windows and Linux OS
  • Strong writing, presentation, communication and classroom management skills
  • High energy person with excellent interpersonal skills that inspires trust and confidence
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time or more
  • Proven history of positive customer interaction, consultation
  • General Sales skills and knowledge
