Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
 

Overview
We are building the test tools that software engineers (QA, Development, Release, Performance, etc.) want to have in their toolkit. Imagine being the person responsible for ensuring that the tools exceed the quality standards set by your peers. It's like playing the cello for YoYo, cooking for Emeril, or writing a horror story for Stephen. Are you our Quality Assurance Automation Engineer?

  • you understand why effective test automation is the only way to ensure world-class products are delivered to the market on time;
  • you don't ask if we should automate, you ask when;
  • you have combined your solid knowledge of quality assurance techniques and methodology with years of hands on testing;
  • you have used a variety of tools, languages, and techniques to automate your testing work;
  • you use a tool to cover the basics so you can use your brain to think of better ways to test;
  • you review customer error reports to figure out how you missed the problem and ensure there aren't any more surprises hiding under that rock;
  • you seldom make the same mistake more than twice;
  • you hate missing deadlines;
  • you make the team better, the goal achievable, and the work fun.

Primary Responsibilities

  • designing, developing, and executing test automation tools to qualify frequent product releases;
  • ensuring the latest QA methods and techniques are incorporated into our test tools;
  • participating in the entire product development lifecycle;
  • developing detailed functional, regression, load, and performance test plans and testing scenarios in accordance with functional requirements and system specifications;
  • executing tests and reporting results and findings on a timely basis;

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Strong development and debugging skills in common testing languages (such as Perl, Ruby, Python and C++;
  • Strong knowledge of design, development and testing techniques;
  • Strong programming experience on the Windows platform (XP, NT, Win2K etc.);
  • Experience with commercial and open source test tools;
  • Networking background (a plus);
  • Knowledge of specific attack types and common security bug categories is not required, but welcomed;
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
